Community Involvement

Community Involvement

At Maui Resort Rentals we say that the only thing better than calling Maui home is the privilege of sharing it.  That's why, as a local Maui business, we believe that it is important to contribute to the community in which we live and work, and we make it a priority to invest back into local organizations and local individuals that are part of our island home. Here is a look into some of the current people and organizations that we support on Maui.

Local Artist Cailyn Omuro

If there’s one thing we’re passionate about at Maui Resort Rentals, other than cultivating dream vacations, it’s supporting our local community. Whether it’s sponsoring surfers or the local little league team, we jump at any chance to create a positive community footprint. Recently, Maui Resort Rentals was given the opportunity to work with high school senior, Cailyn Omuro, on a commissioned piece of art for our Wailea office. Cailyn has been...

Maui High Robotics Team

Maui Resort Rentals is pleased to support Maui Highs 29 student robotics team, Blue Thunder. The team recently won Hawaii's Regionals, earning themselves an invitation to the prestigious 2022 FIRST World Championship—the oldest and largest student robotics program in the world. Blue Thunder is one of 400 teams from 34 countries to make it to the championship held in Houston, Texas, where they finished 37 out of 75 teams in their division. The...

Olowalu Beach Clean Up

Maui Resort Rentals has partnered with Adopt a Beach through the Pacific Whale Foundation to help remove debris from Maui's beaches and protect the health of our ocean. Throughout 2023, our team will participate in monthly meetups at Olowalu Beach, where they will collect and dispose of all man-made trash along the shore.

KZ Cheer Team

Maui Resort Rentals is proud to support Lahaina's newly-formed KZ Cheer team by sponsoring their entry into the 2023 All-Star Cheer Jamz Nationals competition. MRR Director of Sales & Advocacy Sne Patel and Director of Finance Sara Terwall met with the team in late December 2022 to present them with a check for $4,050.

MRR Highway Cleanup

Maui Resort Rentals has partnered with Adopt a Highway to serve our community with bi-annual highway clean-ups. Our second clean-up of the year was a huge success! The MRR team was able to remove debris from a large 2 mile stretch of highway located in Lahaina Town. These events allow our team to connect outside of the office while participating in activities that serve the community. We look forward to our future involvement with Adopt a...

Coconut Willie

We first met Willie at the Upcountry Maui Farmer's Market when we needed to acquire some fresh coconuts to make our famous Maui Resort Rentals fresh coconut smoothies. Willie is a local big wave surfer who earns his living by climbing the local coconut palm trees to remove the potentially hazardous coconuts. He then sells the coconuts at the local farmer's markets. We are happy to assist with his professional surfing endeavors.

Maui Waena STEMworks

The Maui Waena STEMworks club is a free after-school program that includes various STEM-related opportunities, including media production, CAD, engineering, and robotics. The students work together on projects and compete in many local and national events.

West Maui Little League

Last year Maui Resort Rentals kicked off our involvement with West Maui Little League by sponsoring the Maui Resort Rentals Royals t-ball team. The engagement went so well that this year we increased our commitment level and decided to sponsor the entire league.

Trilogy Blue Aina Reef Cleanup

In early June of 2019, Maui Resort Rentals was the corporate sponsor for the acclaimed Blue Aina Reef Cleanup put on by Trilogy. The BlueʽAina program is the environmental arm of Trilogy Excursions which not only focuses on cleaning the island’s reefs and shorelines, but also on supporting local non-profits, educating community members about environmental initiatives, and raising awareness about the importance of protecting our island’s...
