Directly adjacent to the Westin Kaanapali Ocean Resort Villas is the Westin Kaanapali Ocean Resort Villas North. It sits on the same stunning 26 acres of prime Kaanapali North Beach real estate as the first phase and was completed a few short years after the original (South) section. The property is also referred to as The Westin Kaanapali Ocean Resort North, The Westin Timeshare North, The KOR North, or simply The Westin Villas North. The second phase of new Westin luxury timeshare condos followed the precedent set by the original phase, and all of the villas in the North section feature the same elegant, modern decor and Westin’s upscale refinement throughout. The entire property is made up of upscale timeshare villas. The location is on the north side of Black Rock, about 5 minutes by car from Whalers Village and The Westin Hotel. It has a central West Maui location and is only a short drive from the world-famous golf courses of Kapalua.

All villas feature the same luxurious finishings as the original phase directly to the south. All villas are outfitted with fine wood cabinetry, Bose stereos, granite countertops, and flat panel TVs with DVD players. All of the bedrooms are furnished with Westin’s plush Heavenly Beds. All of the bathrooms are outfitted with Westin’s lavish Heavenly Bath. For your convenience, each villa contains its own in-suite washer and dryer.

The studio villas at the KOR North accommodate up to four guests. They offer more space and more features than the average resort hotel room. The studio interiors contain 480 sq ft of living space. When it comes time to rest, the studio villa is outfitted with a king-size Heavenly Bed along with a queen-size sofa sleeper. The kitchenette in the studio has a convenient two-burner cooktop, a coffee maker, and an apartment-sized refrigerator. It also comes with a toaster, blender, mini dishwasher, and convection microwave oven. The kitchenette in the KOR South essentially has the exact same features as the studio kitchenette in the KOR North. All studio bathrooms feature both a whirlpool soaking tub and a glass walk-in shower. One notable difference between the studios in the Westin Villas North and The Westin Villas South is that the Westin North studio villas have lanais you can step out and sit on. The majority of the studios in the Westin Villas South that are not oceanfront or deluxe oceanview have “Juliette” or “French” style lanais, so for balcony lovers trying to choose between studios in The KOR North or South, this may be the tie breaker.

The one-bedroom villas in the KOR North can accommodate four guests. They offer 750 total sq ft of interior living space. All one-bedroom villas offer separate bedrooms and living areas. A big difference from the studios is that all one-bedrooms have a full kitchen with a refrigerator, granite countertops, a four-burner stove, a coffee maker, a dishwasher, a toaster, a blender, and all the required utensils and cookware. The kitchens in The Westin Kaanapali Ocean Resort Villas North do not, however, have a regular oven. Rather, they have an above-counter convection oven. The lack of an oven in the KOR North is one of the more prominent differences between the KOR North and South.

The one-bedroom villa in KOR North has a spacious lanai with ample room for outdoor seating. The lanai is accessible from the bedroom or living room, and both rooms have a flat panel TV. The primary bedroom features Westin’s signature king-size Heavenly Bed. The living room is furnished with a queen-size sofa sleeper. The luxurious primary bath has a dual granite vanity along with a glass walk-in shower and a separate soaking tub.

As with the original KOR South, two-bedroom villas in KOR North are essentially the studio villa and the one-bedroom villa combined. The two-bedroom villas afford a spacious 1230 sq ft of interior space. They can sleep up to eight guests with plenty of room for everyone. The primary section has the full kitchen, living, and dining area. There is a small kitchenette in the guest section. Each section has its own in-suite washer and dryer. The two-bedroom villa has a king-size Heavenly Bed in the guest bedroom and the primary bedroom. Both the living room and the guest bedroom have a comfortable queen-size sofa sleeper. The spacious lanai is accessible from both the primary bedroom and the living room. Each bathroom is outfitted with Westin’s luxurious Heavenly Bath, which has dual granite vanities, a separate whirlpool soaking tub, and a glass shower.

Guests of the Westin Kaanapali Ocean Resort Villas North share the same great Westin amenities that guests in the original Westin Villas South enjoy. With the two properties combined, the Westin Kaanapali Ocean Resort complex offers up a dazzling array of options for fun and enjoyment. The Spa Heilani combines Eastern and Western influences with local elements. There are 13 treatment areas available, and some services can be performed in your villa. A magical tree house villa offers couples the ability to enjoy a treatment or massage in the tropical Hawaiian air, just steps from Maui’s shoreline.

Two WestinWORKOUT Fitness areas are available 24/7. They are outfitted with high-end modern exercise equipment and weights. The Westin Villas South and North each have a fitness center. Guests at the Westin Villas have the option of choosing whichever fitness center is more convenient.

Another very popular feature at KOR is Westin’s great on-site kids camp. For an additional fee, parents can drop off children ages 5-12 for the day, and the kids can enjoy board games, lei making, movies, swimming, and video games. The day camp is open from 9 AM to 4 PM.

Should you want to enjoy a game or two of tennis, the property has two lighted tennis courts. Balls and racquets can be rented at the front desk.

The entire Westin Kaanapali Ocean Resort Villas complex features numerous choices for dining, from casual markets to upscale dining. Auntie’s Kitchen sits close to the South Villas main lobby area. This casual bar and grill features an assortment of cocktails and comfort foods. The popular happy hour occurs every day, and evenings are often complemented with live music. Pailolo is a second bar and grill-style restaurant. It features a scenic oceanfront location by the pool and the beach path at the North property. Pailolo has a daily happy hour with live music from 5 PM to 8 PM on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. The signature restaurant at the Westin Villas is the upscale Italian Grill Pulehu at the Westin Villas North. The award-winning restaurant is recognized as one of Maui’s best Italian restaurants, and it features local renditions of traditional Italian dishes. The restaurant offers an extensive wine list, and the open kitchen and wood-fired oven are a big hit with families. When you want to grab something and go, both the South and the North properties have casual markets in their main lobbies. At the markets, guests can choose from a wide assortment of coffee, snacks, sandwiches, pizzas, souvenirs, and refreshments.

When it is time to enjoy the tropical Maui sun, both the KOR South and the KOR North sections offer extensive heated pool areas, and guests of each property can enjoy them all. In addition, there are four hot tubs and different outdoor BBQ areas where guests can grill and dine as the sun sinks softly below the horizon. Kids will surely have a blast at the kids’ pirate ship area, the playground area, or the waterslide at the KOR South pool area. Cabanas and gazebos are provided for daily rentals, and the beach activities desk staff can help with scuba diving, equipment rentals, and activities.

When you are ready to dip your toes into the golden sands of Maui’s shoreline, the beach is mere steps away. Should you wish to explore the ocean, there are areas close by that are good for snorkeling and swimming. There are sections of coral that run along the coastline, so it is always a good idea to pay attention and be cautious when entering the ocean.

Go ahead and leave your car keys in the room, should you wish, because the resort offers a shuttle service that runs from The Westin Villas to The Westin Maui and The Sheraton Maui on the southern side of Black Rock. Both of these hotels are within a short walk of the upscale shops and popular restaurants at Whalers Village. A second shuttle is available that takes guests from The Westin Villas to three different stops to the south.
