We've rounded up the best of the best places to stay when in Maui, from condo-style accommodations to full-service hotels. Just take your pick!

Honua Kai Resort

Located on West Maui's Kaanapali North Beach, Honua Kai Resort offers guests not only premium beachfront accommodations but also delicious food from the popular Duke’s Beach House Restaurant, which is named after top Hawaiian surfer Duke Kahanamoku and serves island-inspired variations of classic seafood and meat dishes. Honua Kai is also home to the Aina Gourmet Market, where you can buy fresh pastries and have sandwiches made to order. The resort is just a 15 minute-drive from Front Street and 5 minutes away from Whaler’s Village.

Marriott Maui Ocean Club

Conveniently located along the Kaanapali beachwalk--right at the heart of the beach--and a few minutes’ walk from Whaler’s Village, the Marriott Maui Ocean Club boasts a 3.5-acre superpool complete with waterfalls and a waterslide. Children can pretend to be Jack Sparrow or Elizabeth Swann in the resort’s pirate ship. The Maui Ocean Club has three restaurants but of course guests can go and explore the nearby food spots in Lahaina, which is just a quick 15-minute drive away.

The Mahana

This condominium resort on north Kaanapali Beach offers fab oceanfront units to give guests spectacular views of the islands of Moloka’i and Lana’i. Guests can choose from studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom units, and enjoy amenities such as private oceanfront lanais, a heated swimming pool and heated whirlpool spa, and in-room high-speed internet, among others. If you’re looking for a quiet place to stay yet still close enough to Lahaina, The Mahana is definitely something to consider.

Hyatt Residence Club Ka'anapali

The Hyatt Residence Club, situated on the Kaanapali Beach boardwalk, provides guests with a truly luxurious vacation experience. You can relax in the infinity pool or have a drink from the Pau Huaka'i Tiki Bar while enjoying the view. Guests are also given access to the amenities of the neighboring Hyatt Regency Hotel, including fantastic swimming pools and restaurants such as Japengo and Son’z Steakhouse.

The Whaler

The Whaler offers luxury condominium living right by the beach. It’s located in the Kaanapali Resort and provides guests with a home away from home--with a fully equipped kitchen at their disposal, guests can cook their own meals. Of course, dining options at Kaanapali Beach (Whaler’s Village included) are also many, so it’s really up to you how and where you want to eat. Our suggestion? Do both! Aside from in-unit amenities, guests can also access on-site amenities such as a fitness center, tennis court, and swimming pool, among others. For those who like to spend the day teeing off, The Whaler is just a short distance away from the Kaanapali Golf Courses.

The Kaanapali Alii

The Kaanapali Alii is another luxury condo in the Kaanapali Resort, which means the shops, restaurants, and activities in the Kaanapali Beach are just a short walk away. Guests can also walk 15 minutes up the stretch of beach to reach “Black Rock,” the westernmost point of Maui, where some of the best snorkeling spots on the island are found. Cliff diving, which holds great cultural and significance to the Hawaiians, is a ritual here.

Westin Kaanapali Ocean Resort North

Another great option when you’re looking for a place to stay in West Maui is the Westin Ka'anapali Ocean Resort North, which is directly adjacent to the Westin Kaanapali Ocean Resort Villas. This ocean resort has an on-site kids camp where parents can drop off their children and where kids can do a lot of different activities, from making leis to playing board and video games. The entire Westin Kaanapali Ocean Resort complex offers guests access to several dining options, such as Auntie’s Kitchen, Pailolo, and Pulehu.

Westin Kaanapali Ocean Resort

Located at the Kaanapali North Beach just minutes from Lahaina and Kapalua, the Westin Kaanapali Ocean Resort features timeshare villas for those wanting something more than a standard hotel room for their Hawaii vacation. In-unit amenities include flat screen LCDs, Bose stereos, and washer/dryers for a perfect home away from home.

Westin Nanea Villas

The newest luxury beachfront resort in Kaanapali, the Westin Nanae Villas features a children’s sand bottom beach pool complete with a waterslide, plunge pools, and a heated lagoon pool. The beach is just a few steps away so you can stroll or swim there, or simply relax in one of the resort’s oceanfront cabanas. The Westin Nanae Villas is home to the Kauhale Market where you can stock up on food and gifts, as well as the Mauka Makai restaurant that serves only the freshest that the island has to offer.
